WARNER, MCENEANEY NAMED FIRST-TEAM ALL-CAA

Sophomore forward Charlia Warner (Bridgetown, Barbados - pictured) and senior midfielder Kara McEneaney (Miller Place, NY) were named first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association in a vote of the conference's coaches, it was announced today at the CAA Awards Banquet.

Six total players for the Pride were honored at the banquet, as senior midfielder Doni-Melissa Jantzen (Shoreham, NY), senior defender Leslie DeSimone (Roseland, NJ) and senior goalkeeper Jessica Cowperthwait (Wilmington, DE) were all named second-team All-CAA, while freshman defender Reyna Farnum (Bridgetown, Barbados) was named to the All-Rookie team.  

 

Old Dominion senior back Caroline Nichols, who has led the Lady Monarchs to a No. 3 national ranking and a perfect 8-0 conference record, was named the CAA Field Hockey Player and Defensive Player of the Year. James Madison freshman forward Meghan Bain was named CAA Rookie of the Year, and Old Dominion's Beth Anders  was named the CAA Coach of the Year.
 

ODU led all schools with four players selected to the All-CAA first team. Joining Nichols from ODU were senior midfielder Dana Sensenig (16g, 15a), sophomore midfielder Denise Admiraal (12g, 4a) and sophomore goalkeeper Kelly Driscoll (0.64 GAA, 11 shutouts). James Madison, Hofstra and Northeastern each had two selections on the first team, while William & Mary had one.

Warner has scored a team-high 20 goals this season for the Pride this season, while McEneaney has tallied nine goals and four assists. McEneaney had a goal and an assist in the second half of Hofstra's 2-1 win over Delaware in the opening round of the CAA Tournament on Wednesday, enabling the third-seeded Pride to advance to the semifinals in Virginia Beach against second-seeded James Madison on Saturday afternoon.
