10/9/2005 12:00:00 PM

Freshman forward Charlia Warner scored the game-winning goal off of an assist by sophomore forward Pemba Ramdoo (pictured) in the first overtime period as Hofstra University (10-3, 3-1) earned a 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Towson University (6-7, 0-4) at Johnny Unitas ® Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Warner's game-winner, her fifth goal of the season, ended the game with 10:40 left in the first overtime period. She took the ball on the left side, drove toward the goal and fired a shot past junior goalkeeper Christina Armer to give Hofstra its third win in a row.  The assist was Ramdoo's fifth of the year.

Junior forward Kara McEneaney gave Hofstra a 1-0 lead late in the first half when she scored her fourth goal of the season off a pass by junior Doni-Melissa Jantzen with 7:14 left in the first half.

The Tigers tied the score when sophomore Kelli Richards scored an unassisted goal with 22:35 remaining in the game. It was her fifth goal of the season.

Hofstra outshot the Tigers by a 14-9 margin as junior goalkeeper Jessica Cowperthwait made four saves giving her 50 saves on the year.
