, New York - Kevin Brush, who was 2-for-5 with four RBI in the game, scored on an error with one out in the bottom of the ninth to break an 8-8 tie and lead Fordham University (5-9) to a 9-8 win over Hofstra University (3-14) on Jack Coffey Field.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Brush reached second on a throwing error on Hofstra shortstop Josh Stern. The Pride then intentionally walked Jeremy Suarez, with Brush taking third on a wild pitch. Another intentional walk to Jon Volosin loaded the bases and Pride pitcher Kellen Taylor got Tim Boyle to fly out to short right field for the second out. Kurt Thomas then hit a ground ball to Stern but his throw to second baseman Brian Ariss was mishandled allowing the winning run to score.

Hofstra tied the game at eight with three unearned runs in the top of the ninth, all without a hit. Pinch hitter Bryan Bugg opened the inning by reaching on an error and Josh Stewart walked. One out later, JP Wechter walked to load the bases and then Mike Walsh brought in Bugg with a fielder's choice. A walk to Ryan Consentino loaded the bases again and consecutive walks to Steven Oliveri and Eugene Brooks forced in the tying runs.

Fordham jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second on a sacrifice fly from Tim Short.

Hofstra took a 2-1 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the second, both coming on a two-run single from Wechter.

The Rams took a 3-2 lead with a two-run fourth. Consecutive walks to Jeremy Bourgeois, Joe Ciccone and Short loaded the bases and Kevin Brush then brought in two runs with a single.

Fordham made it 6-2 with three runs in the fifth. With one out, Greg Smith walked and moved to second on a Bourgeois walk. Ciccone then plated Smith with a double and one out later, Brush brought in Bourgeois and Ciccone with a single.

The Pride cut the deficit to three, 6-3, on an Oliveri RBI single in the sixth and then made it a one-run game, 6-5, with two in the seventh.

The Rams increased their lead with two unearned run in the bottom of the eighth. With two outs, Boyle reached on an error and moved to second on a single by Thomas. Smith then delivered Boyle with a single, moving Thomas to third where he scored on a single off the bat of Bourgeois.

Smith finished the game 3-for5 with two runs and an RBI while Thomas was 3-for-6 with an RBI. Craig Tscherednikov (2-0) picked up the win in relief, his second of the year.
