Kishida Posts Top 15 Finish In College Debut; Pride Place Eighth At Warrior Invitational

Haverhill, MA - Freshman Sora Kishida finished 15th in her collegiate debut and Hofstra placed eighth as a team at the 55-golfer, nine-team Warrior Invitational hosted by Merrimack at Haverhill Country Club. 

Kishida shot her best round of the tournament, carding a 76 (+4) to finish with a 233 (+17). Classmate Casandra Cantu Chavez also turned in her best round with a 78 (+6) to finish tied for 31st at 243 (+27). Regina Cantu Chavez tied for 33rd at 244 (+28) following a final round 82 (+10). Kaylie Porter tied for 45th at 256 (+40) after shooting an 85 (+13) Tuesday. Natalie Moody wrapped up the Hofstra entry with a 51st-place finish (273, +57). 

Merrimack's June Doerr fired the lowest round of the tournament, a 67 (-5) to leap from sixth place to the top spot, winning with a 219 (+3). Boston University took home the team title at 902 (+38). The Pride finished with a 976 (+112). Hofstra improved its score in each round. 

The Pride return to action next Monday and Tuesday at Boston College's Red Bandanna Invitational.
