Milford, CT - Freshman Sora Kishida finished tied for sixth place, her first career top 10 finish, and Hofstra placed seventh at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club that concluded Tuesday afternoon.

Kishida had a three-round score of 231 (+15) following rounds of 82 (+10), 72 (E), and 77 (+5) to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place in the 57-player field. Her final round 77 was the 10th-best score of the day. 

Kaylie Porter was Hofstra's next-best finisher, placing in a tie for 31st at 249 (+33). Porter carded a final round 86 (+14) following rounds of 81 (+9) and 82 (+10) on Monday. Ava Sparacio tied for 33rd place at 250 (+34) with rounds of 87 (+15), 78 (+6), and 85 (+13). 

Sisters Casandra Cantu Chavez and Regina Cantu Chavez tied for 40th place at 254 (+38). Casandra had scores of 85 (+13), 83 (+11), and 86 (+14), while Regina shot 91 (+19), 82 (+10) and 81 (+9). Natalie Moody placed 51st at 266 (+50), shooting 92 (+20), 89 (+17), and 85 (+13).

Sacred Heart's Maite Cantu won the event by two strokes over Siena's Emily Rensch. Cantu shot 226 (+10) to Rensch's 228 (+12). 

Sacred Heart also won the team title in the eight-team event, posting a 922 (+58). Brown finished second at 936 (+72) followed by Fairfield (942, +78), New Haven (962, +97), Providence (969, +104), Bryant (976, +111), Hofstra (978, +113), and Siena (, 980,+115)

Hofstra returns to action October 3-4 at the Navy Fall Invitational at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club.
