Hempstead, NY- Following a week of action that saw the Hofstra softball team go 4-1 and earn its fourth sweep of a conference opponent this season,
Emma Falen and
Ryleigh Smith earned Coastal Athletic Association weekly honors. Falen was named the Co-Pitcher of the Week, and Smith was honored as the Rookie of the Week.

In three appearances from inside the circle, Falen went 2-0 with 18 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA while limiting opposing batters to just .091. She didn't allow a single run at any point during her 17 innings of work, and she allowed just five hits along the way. Both of her wins came against Towson in complete game shutout performances, racking up 15 Ks and allowing only three hits in 12 innings against the Tigers. Falen also struck out three batters in a four-inning relief appearance on Wednesday against Fordham.

Smith smashed three home runs over Towson to sweep the series against the Tigers with six RBIs and a .417 batting average with a 1.167 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .417. Smith finished Saturday's 9-2 win with two home runs for her second multi-homer game of her freshman season, and she capped off Sunday's 5-0 victory over the Tigers with a three-run home run in the seventh inning.

The Pride will head to Queens on Tuesday to face St. John's at 3 p.m. before hosting Campbell in a three-game series beginning on Friday at 5 p.m.
