Michael Brown has been named to the 2026 Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, which was released today by the College Baseball Foundation. The award is presented annually to the nation's top shortstop. It is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brown is in his third season with the Pride. He started 52 of 53 games last season and batted .276 with 11 doubles, two triples, 34 RBIs, and 36 runs scored. He has started five of the Pride's six games this season and has one double, three runs scored and three stolen bases. He has also handled 15 chances through five games without an error.Â
Brown is one of four shortstops from the CAA named to the watch list, alongside Jake Hajdu (Elon), Kevin Jones (UNCW), and Sam Saucke (Monmouth)
