Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's basketball team looks to close out its two-game Homecoming Weekend homestand on Sunday, February 8, as the Pride welcomes Hampton to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex in a battle of the HU institutions.

The Pride suffered a 59-54 defeat to Monmouth on Friday to drop to 3-18 overall and 1-9 in CAA play.
Chloe Sterling scored 20 points for the second time this season to lead all players in scoring while she matched a career-high with six assists against the Hawks, and
Sandra Magolico recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds plus a career-best five steals and a block.
Picked 11th in the CAA Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, Hampton sits at 9-13 overall and 3-7 in the conference after losses to North Carolina A&T and Drexel. Kayla Lezama leads the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game, followed by Kiki McElrath with 12.8 per game, and Le'Asia Foreman is the leading rebounder for the Pirates with 7.2 per contest.
With the series tied at 3-3, Sunday's matchup will be the seventh all-time meeting between the Pride and the Pirates. Hofstra has won the last two contests against Hampton, including last season's 53-47 win in Virginia.
