Hofstra Hosts UNCW in Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game

Hempstead, NY – Looking to make it two wins in a row, the Hofstra women's basketball team is set to welcome UNCW to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex for a CAA showdown on Sunday, February 22.
 
The Pride and the Seahawks will tip-off at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The game will air on both FloCollege and MSG, while WRHU will carry an audio-only broadcast on the HAWC, and live statistics will also be available. A 60-51 over North Carolina A&T last Sunday improved the Pride to 5-19 overall and 3-10 in the CAA as the regular season heads towards its conclusion. Nevaeh Brown led Hofstra with 17 points and eight rebounds, followed by 14 points from Ema Karim, and Chloe Sterling distributed seven assists against the Lady Aggies.
 
UNCW split its games last week, winning on Friday over North Carolina A&T before losing to Campbell on Sunday, putting the Seahawks at 6-18 overall and 2-11 in league play. Rori Cox is the team's leading scorer at 15.0 points per game and leading rebounder with 6.4 per contest. The Seahawks will face Stony Brook on Friday before heading to Hempstead to face Hofstra.
 
Hofstra won the previous meeting between the programs 54-46 down in Wilmington on January 4. Brown scored 15 points to lead the Pride on the day, followed by 11 points by Chloe Sterling. Hofstra is 28-20 all-time against UNCW, and they have gone 9-1 in the last 10 matchups.
