Hofstra Hits the Road to Face Campbell

Hempstead, NY – After hosting a pair of contests across Winter Homecoming weekend, the Hofstra women's basketball team will fly down to the Tar Heel State of North Carolina for its next set of Coastal Athletic Association matchups, beginning on Friday against Campbell in Buies Creek.
 
Tip-off against the Fighting Camels is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center. The game will stream on FloCollege, and WRHU will carry an audio-only broadcast on 88.7FM. Hofstra snapped an eight-game losing streak on Sunday with a 75-59 win over Hampton, putting the Pride at 4-18 overall and 2-9 in CAA play. Four Hofstra players scored in double figures against Hampton, led by Nevaeh Brown with 17 points, while Chloe Sterling and Micaela Carter both scored 15 against the Pirates, and Emma Von Essen finished with 14 points for the Pride. Sterling also led Hofstra with eight rebounds and a career-high eight assists.
 
Picked to finish fourth in the CAA Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, Campbell are 15-9 overall and 8-3 in the CAA after a Tuesday defeat to Charleston and a win over North Carolina A&T on Sunday. Jasmine Nivar leads the team with 11.6 points per game, followed by Jasmine Felton with 10.3 per game, and Felton is the leading rebounder for the Fighting Camels with 6.1 per contest.
 
Hofstra leads the all-time series 2-1 against Campbell, including last season's 55-47 win over the Fighting Camels from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on January 24.
