Hofstra Hosts Two Matches Sunday; Celebrates Senior Night

| By:
Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra University wrestling team is back in action Sunday at home for a pair of matches at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. The Pride will take on Harvard at 1 p.m. before facing Brown at 6 p.m. Prior to the match against Brown, Hofstra will celebrate Senior Night, honoring Chase Liardi, Matt Rogers, Adrian Sans, and Eric Shindel for their contributions to the Pride wrestling program.

Both matches will stream live on FloWrestling and the Hofstra Pride YouTube Channel. Links can be found above or on the wrestling schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra enters the weekend at 3-12 overall following a victory over LIU in its last outing and will look to carry that momentum into Sunday's doubleheader. The Pride won seven of the 10 weights against the Sharks including six bonus point victories. Gauge Shipp won by fall at 133, Teague Strobel and Will Conlon had tech falls at 125 and 197, respectively, and Matthew Waddell (174), Chase Liardi (141), and Frank Volpe (157) picked up major decisions.

Harvard comes into the weekend with a 4-5 overall record. The Crimson wrestle at Columbia Saturday. Brown, which wrestles at Columbia earlier in the day Sunday, is currently 3-7 overall.

Following Sunday's competition, Hofstra will remain at home for a dual match against Rutgers on Wednesday, February 18. That match will take place in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex at 6 p.m. and will air on MSG Network and FloWrestling. Tickets are available at HofstraTickets.com.
