Lancaster/Philadelphia, PA - Frank Volpe (157) and No. 32 Jake Slotnick (165) each won both of their matches as Hofstra dropped a pair of EIWA dual meets on the road Sunday. The Pride fell to Franklin & Marshall, 23-15, in Lancaster in a matinee match at the Mayser Center before a 26-13 loss at No. 29 Drexel in an evening match at the Daskalakis Center in Philadelphia.

Hofstra slipped to 2-11 overall and 2-4 in EIWA action. The Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall moved to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in league matches, while the Dragons of Drexel are 12-3 overall and 4-0 in the EIWA. 

In the nightcap, Hofstra won four of the first six matches including upsets by Gauge Shipp (133) and Volpe to take a 13-8 lead. Shipp won a 14-5 major decision over No. 31 Kyle Waterman, while Volpe scored a 9-2 decision over #24 Luke Nichter. Alex Turley and Slotnick had wins by decision as well. The Dragons would close the match with four consecutive wins, clinching the dual at 197 on a 7-6 decision by Ibrahim Ameer over Will Conlon. 

In the opener, each team won five matches but the Diplomats had three bonus point wins to get the win. Volpe, Slotnick, Matthew Waddell, Conlon, and Adrian Sans each picked up decision victories for the Pride. 

Hofstra returns to action Saturday at Army West Point. Match time is set for 6 p.m.

Notes:
-Hofstra moved to 13-6 all-time against Franklin & Marshall with the loss snapping a nine-match winning streak in the series. 
-Hofstra is 19-23 all-time against Drexel.
-Shipp moved to 1-1 against ranked wrestlers in 2025-26, while Volpe is now 1-3.
-Turley and Slotnick each picked up their 25th career victory during the Drexel match.
