Hempstead, NY – For the first time in over a month, the Hofstra women's basketball team returns to the friendly court of David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex, as the Pride welcomes Towson for the CAA home opener for Hofstra on Friday, January 9.
Tip-off from the Mack Sports Complex is scheduled for 6 p.m. against the Tigers. The game will air simultaneously on FloCollege and MSGSN, while WRHU will provide and audio-only broadcast on 88.7FM, and there will be live statistics for the contest. Hofstra ended a stetch of five consecutive road games with a 54-46 win over UNCW on Sunday to move to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in the CAA.
Nevaeh Brown paced the Pride with 15 points in her second game in a Hofstra uniform, while
Chloe Sterling chipped in with 11 points and two assists, and
Sandra Magolico tied a career-high for rebounds with 14 against the Seahawks.
Picked to finish seventh in the CAA Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, Towson enters Friday 8-5 overall and 1-0 in the conference after following a 57-54 victory over Campbell on Sunday. Preseason All-CAA Second Team selection India Johnson leads the team in scoring with14.7 points per game, and Kayla Morris averages 7.2 rebounds per contest to lead the Tigers.
Towson handed Hofstra a 63-51 loss from the Mack Sports Complex in last season's meeting, putting the all-time series record at 42-38 in favor of the Tigers.
