Hofstra Heads to Philadelphia to Face Drexel

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women's basketball team will look to shake off a last-second defeat at home with a trip to Philadelphia to take on Drexel in Coastal Athletic Association action on Sunday, January 11.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. from the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The game will air on FloCollege, and there will be live statistics of Sunday's contest as well. These links are available on this page and the women's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
 
The Pride opened its home CAA schedule on Friday with a 47-46 loss to Towson in a back-and-forth contest, putting the Pride at 3-11 overall and 1-2 in league play. Nevaeh Brown continues her excellent start in a Hofstra uniform, leading all players with 17 points, while Alarice Gooden finished with 11 points and Sandra Magolico scored 10 points and led all players with nine rebounds on Friday.
 
Picked to finish second in the CAA Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, Drexel sits at 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the CAA following 57-53 defeat to Stony Brook, putting the losing streak for the Dragons at three games entering Sunday. All-CAA Preseason First Team honoree Amaris Baker is the top scorer in the conference with an average of 20.3 points per game, and Deja Evans leads the Dragons in rebounding with 6.1 per contest.
 
The Pride snapped a 12-game skid against Drexel with a 60-53 win last season from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Drexel leads the all-time series over Hofstra at 50-32.
