Gavin Clarke leads the Pride tied for 16th place and Hofstra is seventh as a team at the conclusion of the first day of the SHU Fall Classic on Monday.
In his first round, Clarke shot even par and concluded the day with a second round 76 (+4). Freshman
Joseph Wong is Hofstra's next-best scorer and sits tied for 26th place out of the 79-player field following two rounds of 75 (+3).
Hank Kancher shot rounds of 73 (+1) and 79 (+7) to tie for 30th.
Eugene Kang is tied for 48th following rounds of 80 (+8) and 76 (+4), while
Charlie Ferrise is tied for 72nd place after rounds of 80 (+8) and 83 (+11).
Taishi Shigaki sits in 79th following rounds of 94 (+22) and 89 (+17).
Hofstra is in seventh place at 606 (+30), while Rhode Island claims the lead at 570 (-6) heading into the final round of competition.
The third round of the SHU Fall Classic gets underway Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. from Great River Golf Club in Milford, Connecticut.
