Emily Mansur enters her 13th season at the helm of the Hofstra Volleyball program in 2026 after serving as an assistant coach with the Pride in 2013.
The Mansur era at Hofstra has been spectacular as she has led Hofstra to a stellar 223-116 record during her 12 seasons as head coach. Hofstra has earned a pair of NCAA Tournament berths under Mansur's leadership, winning CAA Championships in 2014 and 2018. In addition, her 2015 and 2025 squads were the regular season CAA champion.
Mansur was named the head coach on May 7, 2013.
In 2025, Mansur led Hofstra to 22 wins, a CAA regular season title, an appearance in the CAA Championship Match, and four student-athletes earning conference postseason honors. She guided senior Izadora Stedile to CAA Player of the Year honors as well as AVCA Honorable Mention All-America accolades.
In 2024, the Pride picked up 19 victories and advanced to the CAA Championship semifinals. Five student-athletes garnered postseason awards from the league with two All-CAA First Team honorees, one All-CAA Second Team recipient, and a pair of CAA All-Rookie selections. Off the court, the Pride excelled in the classroom as well, earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 13th time in program history after compiling a 3.71 grade point average during the 2024-25 academic year.
In 2023, Hofstra captured 18 victories and had a pair of student-athletes earn postseason CAA honors. The team had separate win streaks of six and seven matches during the season and the Pride began the year with a 13-1 record. The 6-0 start to the season was the program’s best since 2012.
The 2022 campaign saw Mansur guide the Pride to 17 wins and a spot in the CAA Championship. Five players were honored by the conference with three earning first team accolades and two capturing major awards. Beatriz Alves was named the CAA Setter of the Year and Chiara Cucco earned CAA Libero of the Year honors. The Pride went 14-2 in the league in 2022, the program’s best conference mark since going 17-1 in the CAA in 2006.
In 2021, Mansur guided Hofstra to 15 wins and a spot in the CAA semifinals and four players earned postseason honors from the conference. Included in that were two of the major awards once again as Alves was the CAA Rookie of the Year and Cucco garnered the CAA Libero of the Year honor.
During the COVID-shortened 2020 season which occurred during the spring of 2021, Mansur and the Pride posted three wins and Ana Martinovic was named to the All-CAA team.
In 2019, Hofstra won 17 matches and advanced to the quarterfinals of the CAA Championship. The Pride saw four players earn postseason honors from the conference, including Laura Masciullo who became the first four-time first team All-CAA selection in program history.
The 2018 season was an incredible year for Hofstra and Mansur. The Pride went on to win the CAA crown after earning a share of the regular season CAA title and Hofstra earned 25 victories along the way. She earned her first CAA Coach of the Year award and became just the second Hofstra volleyball coach to earn the honor, joining legendary head coach Fran Kalafer, who was recognized in 2004. Mansur aided in the development of a slew of student-athletes during the magical season as the Pride captured the league’s Setter and Rookie of the Year awards and four student-athletes earned spots on the All-CAA teams.
In 2017, her young squad captured 18 victories and advanced to the CAA semifinals with four student-athletes earning postseason honors from the conference. Laura Masciullo was named to the All-CAA First Team, while Michaela Rucli and Luisa Sydlik garnered All-CAA Third Team honors. Ivania Ortiz picked up CAA All-Rookie Team accolades as well.
The 2016 season saw a third straight 20-win campaign for the Pride as Hofstra went 20-12, along with picking up 10 conference victories. That marks the first time Hofstra won 20 or more matches in three straight seasons since 1998 (21 wins), 1999 (26 wins) and 2000 (23 wins). Mansur would see a pair of her student-athletes earn all-conference honors as Masciullo was an All-CAA first team selection and Rucli garnered second team accolades. Masciullo was also the CAA Rookie of the Year, the Pride’s first since 2004. On the academic side, Hannah Klemm became the 32nd CoSIDA Academic All-American in Hofstra Athletic history and was also the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year in volleyball.
During the summer of 2016, Mansur also took part in the NCAA Women Coaches Academy. This exclusive academy brought together nearly 50 female coaches of all experience levels and sports for four days of non-sport-specific educational training.
In 2015, Mansur guided Hofstra to a 21-11 season as the Pride went 12-4 in conference play to capture a share of the regular season CAA crown. It marked Hofstra's first back-to-back seasons of at least 20 wins since the program won 26 matches in 1999 and 23 in 2000. Mansur was instrumental in five Pride student-athletes earning CAA postseason honors, including Klemm being named the CAA Setter of the Year for the second straight year. Klemm was the first repeat winner of the award since 2010.Â
In her first season as head coach at Hofstra, Mansur led the Pride to a stellar 28-6 overall record. Hofstra would capture its third CAA title and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history as she led the team to a five-set win over defending champion Charleston in the CAA Championship Match. The 28 victories were the most since the 1989 team won 35 matches and the 13 conference wins rank as the most since the 2006 team won 17 CAA contests. In addition, the Pride picked up 14 home victories marking the most since the 1995 team won 16 home matches. Mansur coached four players to postseason honors, including senior Kelsie Wills who became the program’s second-ever AVCA All-American. Wills was also the Pride’s first CAA Player of the Year since 2006 and sophomore Hannah Klemm earned the conference’s Setter of the Year award, the first for Hofstra since 2006.Â
A graduate of Iona University, Mansur joined the Hofstra staff after spending the previous season as an assistant coach of the professional-level Lusofona Volleyball Club. She returned to the college game with extensive experience coaching club teams as well as serving as an assistant coach for one season (2006) at Marist College.
Mansur was an assistant coach for two Lusofona Volleyball Club teams based out of Lisbon, Portugal. Of the two, one was a professional-level team in which she was responsible for developing the team’s setters. She was also the assistant coach for Lusofona’s 18’s team, which qualified for the Portuguese Final Four. In addition to leading the practices for setters and middles, Mansur also assisted players trying to attract the attention of professional teams.
Prior to coaching in Portugal, Mansur worked in the corporate world as the general manager and compliance officer at Multitransfers LLC from 2007 to 2012.
Mansur began her coaching career at Marist in 2006 where she took part in practice and conditioning plans, assisted in the scouting of opponents and in-game strategy, and was also responsible for game filming.
A two-year captain for the Gaels from 2003 to 2004, Mansur was a four-year starter at right side hitter, outside hitter, and setter. She was named to the all-conference first team in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in 2003 and 2004 while earning the MAAC Setter of the Year Award in 2004. Mansur was inducted into the Iona Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022.Â
Mansur also played on numerous club teams based in New York, Brazil, and Germany.
Mansur is also the owner and director of Club Ace Long Island (CALI), one of the top club volleyball programs on Long Island.
Mansur, who is fluent in Portuguese and English, graduated from Iona in 2005 with a degree in psychology.
Mansur and her husband, Matthias, have two children, son Marcus and daughter Camila.
