Hempstead, NY - A pair of Hofstra players earned awards from the CAA today as Izadora Stedile was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week and Nina Jioshvili-Ravva garnered the CAA Rookie of the Week Award. 

Hofstra captured a pair of wins, both in sweeps, over UNCW to open CAA play this past week. The victories moved the Pride to a perfect 9-0 this season, matching the 1988 team for the best start in program history. 

The awards are the first weekly awards from the CAA this season for Stedile and Jioshvili-Ravva. 

It was another spectacular week for Stedile as she was an offensive force for the Pride in their two wins over UNCW.

Stedile tallied team-highs of 31 kills and 26 digs, while also adding three blocks, three service aces, and four assists. She hit at a remarkable .434 clip during the week and averaged a spectacular .517 kills per set. 

Stedile tallied match-highs of 18 kills and 16 digs on Friday, while hitting .500 in the sweep. 

She followed that up with a match-high 13 kills and 10 digs (second on the team) in Saturday's straight set victory. 

In addition to averaging 5.17 kills per set, she also averaged 4.33 digs per set. 

The two double-doubles were her team-leading fourth and fifth of the season. 
Jioshvili-Ravva had another strong week in helping the Pride to a 2-0 week.

Jioshvili-Ravva posted 66 assists, 10 digs, five kills, five service aces, and four blocks in the two matches. 

On Friday she had a match-high 37 assists and added five digs and a career-high tying five service aces. 

She followed that match up with 29 assists, five digs, three kills, and three blocks in Saturday's sweep. 

For the week she averaged a robust 11.00 assists per set.
