Hofstra Travels To No. 13 Vermont Tuesday

Hempstead, NY - Winners of three consecutive games, the Hofstra University men's soccer team will look to continue that streak Tuesday against the defending NCAA National Champions and 13th-ranked University of Vermont Catamounts. Game time at Virtue Field in Burlington, Vermont, is set for 6 p.m.

The game, a rematch from last season's NCAA Second Round, will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live statistics also available. Links for both can be found on the men's soccer schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra enters the contest with a record of 4-2-0 and is coming off a pair of shutout victories last week, 1-0 at Princeton and 3-0 versus Stony Brook. Laurie Goddard scored three of the Pride's four goals with a one at Princeton and two versus Stony Brook. Daniel Burko added the final goal against the Seawolves, while Gino Cervoni recorded the first two shutouts of his career. 

Vermont is undefeated (4-0-3) and is coming off a 1-0 home victory over No. 3 Akron this past Saturday. The Catamounts for 4-0-1 at Virtue Field this season and have outscored opponents 13-4 on their home turf. Maximilian Kissel leads Vermont with four goals and two assists, while keeper Niklas Herceg has a 0.86 goals against average in seven games. 

The series between Hofstra and Vermont is tied at 6-6-1. The Catamounts defeated Hofstra in the last meeting, 2-1, in the NCAA Second Round at Captains Field on November 24, 2024.
