Hempstead, NY - The Coastal Athletic Association announced the Preseason All-CAA Women's Soccer Team today and four members of the Pride were represented. Named Preseason All-CAA were senior midfielder Millie Davies and graduate defender Gabriella Marte. In addition, graduate forward Mathilde Braithwaite and graduate defender Olivia Pearse were selected to the honorable mention team.

Davies (Manchester, England) was a First Team All-CAA and a Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-Region pick last season . She led the Pride in scoring with 19 points on seven goals (team-high) and five assists (tied for team high).

Marte (Middletown, Delaware) was a Third Team All-CAA selection in 2024 following a tremendous season on the Pride's back line. She helped anchor a unit that allowed just over one goal per game, while also chipping in with a goal and two assists, all in CAA play. Marte led the Pride in minutes played with 1703 out of a possible 1712:40.

Braithwaite (Esbjerg, Denmark) was also Third Team All-CAA selection after a breakout 2024 campaign that saw her score a career-best five goals and add one assist for 11 points (also a career-best). The five goals tied for second on the team and four of the five came in CAA action.

Pearse (Seaford, New York) grabbed a spot on the preseason team despite playing in just three games in 2024 due to a season-ending injury. She does have seven goals and two assists in her career.

In addition to the Preseason All-CAA Team, the league also announced the predicted order of finish. The Pride was picked to finish third in the North Division by the league's coaches. Hofstra received 46 points to finish behind Stony Brook (63) and Monmouth (56) in the division. Elon (63) was tabbed to finish first in the South Division. 

Hofstra opens the 2025 season Thursday night at home against Saint Joseph's at 7 p.m.
