Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Department of Athletics has announced that Head Softball Coach Adrienne Clark has decided to step away from her role to pursue a new professional opportunity.

Clark led the Pride for four seasons, highlighted by a CAA Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023.

"After thoughtful reflection, I've decided the time is right for me to pursue a new opportunity and step into the next chapter of my professional journey," Clark said. "I'm incredibly proud of what we've built, and the relationships formed along the way. I want to thank Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr., President Susan Poser, and the Hofstra community for their support. Most importantly, I want to thank the student-athletes for their belief in the vision of the program and the work they put in every day."

Clark added, "Hofstra will always hold a special place in my heart. I'll be cheering on this team from afar and supporting the program as a proud alum."

"We are grateful to Adrienne for her leadership over the past four years as head coach of our softball program," said Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. "Adrienne's commitment to Hofstra and efforts in guiding the team to a CAA Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023 will always be appreciated. We wish her the best as she embarks on the next chapter in her professional journey."

Assistant Coach Nikki Amodeo has been named the interim head coach.
