Hempstead, NY – In an announcement by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), Hofstra softball student-athletes
Nicole Cancel,
Alanna Morse,
Dahlia Palacio,
Gabby Sultan, and
Lily Yepez were honored by the organization as Academic All-District selections for the athletic and academic achievements.
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the country's top student-athletes for their performances on the field and in the classroom. Nomination criteria include holding a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or better, being a sophomore standing or higher both academically and athletically and playing a key role in the lineup with participation in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances OR pitched 35 innings.
Morse holds a 3.85 GPA as an Early Childhood & Childhood Education major, while Sultan majors in Exercise Physiology with a 3.74 GPA, Yepez has a 3.68 GPA as an Exercise Physiology major, Cancel is also an Exercise Physiology major with a 3.51 GPA, and Palacio holds a 3.51 GPA as a Marketing major. Morse, Palacio, and Yepez were all named to the All-CAA First Team, and Cancel and Sultan were named to the All-CAA Second Team.
