Hempstead, NY – #5 seed Charleston stands in the way of the #1 seed Hofstra softball team's quest for its 14th Coastal Athletic Association title in program history when the Pride and the Cougars meet in the 2026 CAA Softball Championship Game on Saturday, May 9, from Hunt Softball Park on the campus of Elon University.
First-pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 12 p.m. Hofstra will need to win twice against Charleston in order to be crowned CAA champions. The start time of the second game, should Hofstra win, is to be determined.

Hofstra advanced to the championship game following a 6-1 win over #2 seed UNCW and a 3-0 shutout win over #3 Campbell on Friday.
Alanna Morse drove in the opening run in the third inning against UNCW before the Seahawks tied the score at 1-1 in the fifth inning, but
Mackenzie Fitzgerald put the Pride back in front for good with an RBI double in the fifth inning, followed by RBIs by Morse and
Kimmya Sims, before
Gemma D'Orazio belted a two-run home run in the sixth. Against Campbell,
Madison Steppe and
Emma Falen combined for a four-hit shutout while
Nicole Cancel drove in two RBIs and
Dahlia Palacio scored on a sacrifice fly by
Chelsea Villar.
The #5 seed in the CAA Championship, the Cougars advanced to the championship game for the first time in program history with wins over Stony Brook, the Pride, and Campbell. Bronwyn Conroy leads Charleston with 73 hits and a .384 batting average, while Leela Langston has a team-best 40 RBIs. In the circle, Mackenzie Mathis is the top pitcher for the Cougars with a 15-7 record and 122 strikeouts in 142.0 innings.
Hofstra holds an all-time record of 20-13 against Charleston, but the Cougars have won four of the last six meetings between the two sides, including Thursday's 4-2 win for Charleston.
