Hempstead, NY - Hofstra Head Women's Basketball Coach Danielle Santos Atkinson announced today the signing of four transfer student athletes to the Pride family for the upcoming 2025-26 season of Hofstra women's basketball.
Joining the Pride for the upcoming 2025-26 season are guards Nevaeh Brown (Charlotte, North Carolina) and Sana'a Garrett (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), center Deivejon Harris (Bronx, New York), and forward Sandra Magolico (Maputo, Mozambique). Brown and Garrett will complete their graduate years at Hofstra, while Harris will suit up for her senior season, and Brown will be a junior for the upcoming season.
A 5'9"Â guard, Brown spent the 2024-25 season at UCF, where she was the only Knight player to play in all 30 games. Making 28 starts last season, averaging 8.8 points per game while shooting 35.9% from the floor and 30% from three-point range, and she lead the team with an average of 2.6 assists in 31.6 minutes per contest. She crossed the 1,000-point threshold with a 19-point outing against Arizona State on February 12, and tied a career high of 25 points versus Baylor on January 29. This past season, she finished in double figures 13 times while helping her team advance to the second round of the Big 12 Championship.
Prior to UCF, Brown spent two seasons at East Tennessee State, where she was named All-SoCon First Team in 2023-24, and she began her career at Wake Forest in 2020-21.
"Nevaeh is a great addition to our team," Santos Atkinson added. "She is an elite scoring guard who brings great size and experience to the court. She fits our system, and has the versatility to play and guard multiple positions on the floor."
A 5'7" guard, Garrett joins the Pride after two seasons at Jacksonville. She was a two-year starter at the point guard position for the Dolphins, averaging over 28.3 minutes per game for her career in 57 appearances. This past season, Garrett shot 41.5% from the floor while averaging 7.5 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. She ranked among the top 25 in the Atlantic Sun Conference for assists and steals per game.
"We are excited to welcome Sana'a to the Pride Family," Santos Atkinson said. "She is a dynamic combo guard that can initiate offense or play off the ball. She has great feel for the game, loves to push in transition, and will be a pesky on ball defender in the full court."
Standing at 6'3", Harris arrives in Hempstead after spending the 2024-25 season at Texas Southern. She helped the Lady Tigers earn a trip to the WNIT while playing in all 32 games and averaging 6.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per contest. Â Prior to Texas Southern, Harris starred at Sullivan Community College for two seasons, and she was a NJCAA Division II All-America selection in 2023 and was named the Region 15 Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
"We are so excited to bring Dee back home," said Santos Atkinson. "A powerful big with great size and touch around the rim. Our fans will really appreciate her competitive fire, and passion for the game."
A 6'2" forward, Magolico joins the program after one season at SMU.  With the Mustangs, Magolico appeared in 27 games and shot 48.6% from the floor. She also spent a season at Arizona State and two seasons at New Mexico Junior College prior to her time at SMU.  At New Mexico JC, she made 30 appearances and started 28 games, averaging 8.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Thunderbirds while helping the team to 26 wins and a Round of 16 finish in the NJCAA Women's Basketball Championship. Magolico also represented her home nation of Mozambique during the 2019 FIBA World Championships.
"Sandra is an athletic, high motor forward that can play physical in the paint and stretch the defense," Santos Atkinson said. "She's a great rebounder and will run hard in transition. She's a competitor and wants to win!"
