Pride Entertain Tigers On Friday Night; Travels To Drexel On Sunday

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's lacrosse team will host Towson on Friday night in a CAA contest before heading to Drexel on Sunday afternoon to conclude a busy week. 

Opening draw control is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday from James M. Shuart Stadium and the road tilt against the Dragons will begin at 2 p.m.

There are tons of giveaways planned for Friday! There will be rolls of Lizard Skins lacrosse stick grip tape and warps for the first 100 youth in attendance, a Lacrosse Unlimited stick raffle, 50 signed lacrosse balls from members of the Hofstra team, Dead Bounce balls for the first 50 youth, and if you wear a youth lacrosse jersey you get a free ticket to the game for youth!

Friday's game will air on LacrosseTV, FloCollege and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available. Sunday's game will air on FloCollege and WRHU as well. Hofstra is 7-5 overall and 2-2 in league play following a thrilling come-from-behind 12-11 victory over Campbell on Saturday. Nikki Mennella led the way with nine points on six goals and three assists, while Megan Flannery was huge with a career-best four goals in the win. Luchianna Cardello made 11 saves in net to help preserve the victory.

Towson is 6-5 and has an identical 2-2 CAA mark. The Tigers defeated William & Mary, 15-10, last Saturday. Milana Zizakovic had seven points on six goals and one assist to pace the Tigers. 

Drexel is 9-2 overall and a perfect 4-0 in league play. The Dragons come into the week having defeated Towson, 12-9, last week. Kate Quinn had five goals for Drexel in that contest. 

Hofstra is 19-27 all-time against Towson in women's lacrosse. The Pride won last season's meeting, 15-8, in Maryland and have captured four of the last six encounters dating back to the 2019 season. The first meeting was during the 1984 campaign. 

Hofstra is 28-15 versus Drexel all-time in women's lacrosse. The Dragons won both meetings a season ago, a one-goal game in Hempstead during the regular season and then in the CAA semifinals at Stony Brook. The Pride's last win in the series came in 2019. The first meeting was during the 1983 season.
