Hempstead, NY – The Coastal Athletic Association portion of the Hofstra softball team's 2025 season officially begins in North Carolina, as the Pride takes on Elon in a three-game series beginning on Friday, March 7, and concluding on Sunday, March 9.
 
First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 2 p.m., while Saturday's game begins at 1 p.m., and Sunday's start time is 12 p.m. All three games will air on FloCollege, and live statistics will be available for all the entire series. Hofstra went 1-4 at the Party at Palmer Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend, putting its season record at 1-13. Chelsea Villar drove in five RBIs on six hits, including a four RBI performance in Hofstra's 13-12 win over Seton Hall, while Dahlia Palacio recorded the highest batting average for the Pride down in Charlottesville, hitting .455 with five hits in 11 at-bats, including three doubles and a triple. Anna Butler made Hofstra history with five hits against the Pirates, tying the single-game program record for hits in a seven-inning game.
 
Picked to finish sixth in the CAA Preseason Softball Poll, Elon is 7-11 entering its CAA series against the Pride. Kaitlyn Wells leads the team with a .396 batting average on 21 hits in 53 at-bats, followed closely by Allee Seering's .383 clip on a team-leading 23 hits. McKenna McCard is the leading pitcher for the Phoenix with a 1.91 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
 
Hofstra is 15-7 all-time versus Elon. The Pride last faced Elon in the 2024 CAA Championship, eliminating the Phoenix with a 6-0 win.
