Hempstead, NY – After spending the last month away from home, the Hofstra softball team finally hosts its first series of the season from Bill Edwards Stadium, as the Pride welcomes Towson for a three-game slate beginning on Friday, March 14.
First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. first pitch on Saturday, before concluding the series on Sunday at 12 p.m. There will be a live broadcast of all three games on FloCollege, and there will be live statistics for each game as well. Hofstra is coming off a 9-1 defeat against Fordham on Wednesday, putting the Pride at 1-17 overall and 0-3 in the Coastal Athletic Association coming into the series with the Tigers.
Alanna Morse leads Hofstra with a .366 batting average, while
Chelsea Villar paces the Pride with 17 hits and 11 RBIs.
Towson enters the weekend 8-12 overall following a 4-0 home win over UMBC on Tuesday, while their CAA record sits at 1-2 after losing two of three to Stony Brook this past weekend. Kristin Toland leads the Tigers with a .349 batting average, 22 hits, and 21 RBIs.
Hofstra leads Towson 82-26 in the all-time series. Hofstra won two of three games last season in its series against the Tigers from Maryland.
