2/5/2025 8:05:00 AM

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's lacrosse team will take on Wagner on Friday afternoon in the program's home opener.

Opening face-off from James M. Shuart Stadium is scheduled for 3 p.m. The game is part of a lacrosse doubleheader at Hofstra as the Pride women's lacrosse team will open its season at 12 p.m. against Long Island. Admission is free of charge for both games.

The game will air on FloCollege and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available on the HAWC. Links to the broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's lacrosse schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra opened the 2025 campaign with a dominating 20-2 win over Iona this past Saturday. Anthony Mollica posted a team-high six points on four goals and two assists, while Trey Parkes (3G, 1A), Drew Bogardus (3G, 1A), and John Madsen (3G) all added hat tricks. The two goals allowed were the fewest since allowing two against Stony Brook on February 7, 2018.

Wagner began its season with a 14-3 loss to Manhattan on Saturday. Danny McMahon had a goal and an assist for the Seahawks, while Jake Mitchell and Max Frissora each added a goal.

Friday will be the fourth all-time meeting between Hofstra and Wagner with all three previous meetings taking place since the 2020 season. The Pride leads the series, 3-0. Hofstra won last season's meeting, 21-9, in Hempstead, and earned an 18-6 win in 2021 and a 21-11 victory in 2020.
