Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will begin a two-game homestand on Thursday when it hosts Northeastern. The game is the first of two games at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex for the Pride as Hofstra will host Stony Brook on Saturday in the Winter Homecoming game.
Thursday's game is being presented by the 2M Corporation.
It is also Hofstra's Black Excellence Game and more than 10 local Black-owned businesses will be set-up on the concourse to showcase their business and to celebrate Black History Month.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
For ticket information visit HofstraTickets.com, call (516) HOF-TIXX, or visit the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours.
The game will air on MSG Network and FloCollege, and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available on 88.7 FM. Links to all, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.
Hofstra will bring a 12-11 overall record and a 4-6 conference mark into Thursday's encounter. The Pride dropped a road contest at Campbell on Saturday. Leading the team in scoring in that game was
Jean Aranguren,
Cruz Davis, and
Silas Sunday - all with 10 points.
Northeastern has an identical record as the Pride, both overall and in CAA play. The Huskies fell, 71-60, to Elon on Saturday. Rashad King and William Kermoury each had 15 points for Northeastern in that contest.
Hofstra is 32-26 all-time against Northeastern. The Pride has won six of the last seven and nine of the last 12 in the series. Hofstra won this season's earlier meeting, 55-37, in Boston back on January 4. The 37 points were the fewest the Pride has allowed in a game since a 48-34 win over Rider on January 18, 1989.
