Pride Returns to Virginia for Party at Palmer Invitational

Hempstead, NY – For the second time in as many weeks, the Hofstra softball team will be making a trip down to Virginia. This time, the Pride will head to Charlottesville for the Party at Palmer Invitational, hosted by Virginia. Over three days, Hofstra will face Cornell and hosts Virginia twice and Seton Hall once at Palmer Field.

Friday, Feb. 28 @ 11 a.m.: Hofstra vs. Cornell
Friday, Feb. 28 @ 6:30 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Seton Hall
Saturday, Mar. 1 @ 4 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Virginia
Saturday, Mar. 1 @ 6:30 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Cornell
Sunday, Mar. 2 @ 1:30 p.m.: Hofstra vs. Virginia

Hofstra fell to 0-9 after an 0-4 weekend at the Liberty Softball Classic in Lynchburg. Tyler Douglas recorded a hit in three of Hofstra's four games, going 6-9 from the plate with two doubles and two RBIs, while Dahlia Palacio also drove in two runs for the Pride.
 
Virginia, receiving votes in the latest NFCA/GoRout Poll and ranked #25 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll, is 10-5 overall, while Cornell enters the weekend 2-3, and Seton Hall sports a 3-6 mark.
 
Hofstra is 15-12 all-time against Seton Hall, while the Pride sports an all-time record of 3-9 against Virginia, and Hofstra is just 0-1 versus Cornell.
