Hempstead, NY – Hofstra Head Softball Coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke and the Hofstra softball coaching staff have announced the commitments of Emma Speyerer, Brianna Vick, McCoy Walsh, and Camdyn Wilson to continue their academic and athletic careers at Hofstra University by signing their National Letters of Intent during the early signing period.

"We are excited to announce our signings for the Class of 2026," said Cassidy-Lyke, entering her first season as the Pride's head coach. "This group of ladies hail from strong softball programs and will be expected to add needed depth to our current roster, and their academic prowess fits perfectly into our expectations for the total student athlete. I am eager for them to continue their success here for the Pride!"

An outfielder from Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, Speyerer joins the Pride after an exemplary career at Audubon High School in Audubon, New Jersey. Speyerer has donned a Green Wave softball uniform for the past four seasons entering her senior campaign, and she has collected numerous individual accolades, highlighted by a Third Team All-State selection as a junior in 2025. She enters her senior season a three-time First Team All-Colonial Conference selection, a First Team All-Group 1 honoree, and has picked up consecutive All South Jersey honors in 2024 and again in 2025. In three seasons at Audubon, Speyerer has collected 123 hits, 39 RBIs, 100 runs, 29 walks, and 93 stolen bases, and she owns the single-season school record for stolen bases with 33 as a freshman and as a junior. She is also an accomplished member of the varsity girls basketball team, earning first team all-conference honors in 2023-24 and second team honors in 2024-25. Speyerer plans to major in sports media at Hofstra, with the goal of becoming a sports broadcaster following graduation.

"Emma brings a wealth of speed and athleticism, which will be fun to watch both offensively on the basepaths and defensively as she patrols the outfield," said Cassidy-Lyke. "Her energy will be contagious."

A pitcher from San Antonio, Texas, Vick will arrive in Hempstead from San Antonio Christian School, where has been a three-year member of the varsity softball team. Vick totaled 75 hits and 333 strikeouts across three seasons, including a 2024 campaign that saw her earn Second Team All-State and First Team All-Conference after recording 147 strikeouts, 35 hits, and a .538 batting average. She repeated as First Team All-Conference the following season with 92 strikeouts, 18 hits, and a batting average of .391. Vick also brings international experience to the Pride, having represented the Peruvian national team and playing in many international competitions in countries such as Peru, China, and Japan. She plans to major in mechanical engineering at Hofstra.

"Bri's command of several different pitches and the ability to change speeds will keep batters off balance," said Cassidy-Lyke. "She fields her position well, and we're excited to have her."

A pitcher from Plainville, Massachusetts, Walsh enters her senior season as a member of the King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Entering her senior season, Walsh has racked up 612 strikeouts and 47 wins in 371.6 total innings for the Warriors, and she has been named a Boston Globe All-Star, a Sun Chronicle All-Star, and a Hockomock League All-Star all three seasons. Her excellent pitching helped the Warriors to league titles in 2023 and 2024, as well as a runner-up finish in the 2025 MIAA state championship. Walsh plans to major in business and marketing while attending Hofstra.

"McCoy's command and presence on the mound will provide her the opportunity to earn pitching time immediately," said Cassidy-Lyke. "She spins the ball effectively, and her arsenal of pitches will complement our staff."

A shortstop/middle infielder from Carmel, New York, Wilson will join the Pride after graduating from Mahopac High School. A member of the varsity softball team since the eighth grade, Wilson was named All-Section as a junior in 2025 with a .468 batting average, while she was a two-time All-League selection as a sophomore in 2024 and in eighth grade in 2022, and she was named All-Section Honorable Mention in 2023 as a freshman. She also played varsity soccer and tallied 13 goals for the Wolf Pac. Wilson plans to major in health sciences at Hofstra, and she intends to attend PA school with the goal of becoming a physician assistant after graduating.

"The staff looks for Camdyn to compete immediately," Cassidy-Lyke said. "Her arm strength and glove work will be counted on to stabilize the infield. She has the flexibility and experience to play several different infield positions."
