Susan Cassidy-Lyke is in her first year as the head softball coach at Hofstra University. She was named to her position in July of 2025.

Cassidy-Lyke is a highly-accomplished coach, seasoned athletics administrator, and former standout student-athlete.

A proven leader with more than two decades of championship-caliber coaching experience, Cassidy-Lyke joins Hofstra after an extraordinary 20-year tenure as the head softball coach and director of athletics at Molloy University, where she built a nationally-respected program and guided her student-athletes to excellence on and off the field.

Cassidy-Lyke comes to Hofstra after serving as the head softball coach and director of athletics at Molloy since 2006.

“Susan Cassidy-Lyke is an exceptional leader whose remarkable track record of success speaks for itself,” said Cole Jr. “She brings to Hofstra a championship mindset, a deep commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes, and a breadth of experience that is truly unique - ranging from her time as a standout student-athlete to a highly-respected coach and accomplished athletics administrator. Her vision, integrity, and diverse skill-set make her the ideal person to lead our softball program into its next chapter, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Pride.”

"I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Hofstra family as the head coach of such a storied and respected softball program,” said Cassidy-Lyke. “The Hofstra softball program has a rich tradition of excellence, and I’m humbled to now be a part of that legacy. I look forward to building on that foundation by helping our student-athletes grow not only as competitors, but as confident, driven, and compassionate young women. My goal is to ensure that their time at Hofstra is filled with meaningful experiences - on the field, in the classroom, and in the community - that prepare them for success in every aspect of their lives."
