Hofstra Takes On Top-Seeded Vermont In NCAA Second Round

Burlington, VT - In a bit of role reversal from the 2024 NCAA Championship, the Hofstra University men's soccer team visits top-seeded Vermont in the second round of the NCAA Championship Sunday. Kickoff from Virtue Field is set for 1 p.m. with the game airing on ESPN+.Links for the broadcast and live stats can be found on the men's soccer schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

This will be a rematch from last season's NCAA Second Round when unseeded Vermont visited seventh-seeded Hofstra, winning 2-1 en route to winning the National Championship. The teams also met this season with the Catamounts winning at home, 2-1, on September 16. Samuel Francou scored the lone Pride goal.

Hofstra (13-5-0) advanced to the second round for the third consecutive season with a 2-0 win at Syracuse Thursday night behind goals from Laurie Goddard and Daniel Burko. The Pride defense held the Orange to just three shots on goal with Sean Bohan stopping all three in the second half.

Vermont is undefeated (14-0-5) and on a six-game winning streak. The Catamounts had a first round bye and are 9-0-2 at home this season. Vermont leads the all-time series, 6-6-1.
