We're In! Hofstra Earns At-Large Bid To NCAA Championship, Plays At Syracuse Thursday

| By:
Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team will be making their 10th overall and fifth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance after earning an at-large bid to the field of 48 teams. The Pride plays at Syracuse Thursday night in a first round game. Kickoff from SU Soccer Stadium is set for 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the gate (cash only) or online at Cuse.com.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live statistics available through the NCAA website. Links for both can be found above or on the men's soccer schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra (12-5-0) was the top overall seed in the CAA Championship, but fell to Stony Brook in the North Division Semifinals to end its run of four consecutive CAA titles. But Hofstra's body of work resulted in the team earning its first-ever at-large bid. The Pride's previous NCAA Championship appearances came in 1968, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2015, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Syracuse (9-7-3) earned an at-large bid out of the ACC. The Orange were seeded sixth in the ACC Championship and advanced to the semifinals with wins over Virginia Tech and fifth-ranked North Carolina State before a loss to No. 25 SMU.

The winner of Thursday's game will travel to overall top seed and defending National Champion Vermont Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

Hofstra is 1-3 all-time against Syracuse. The teams last met February 12, 2021 in Albany, New York, with Syracuse prevailing 2-1. The last meeting in Syracuse was September 2, 2018, a 4-3 Orange victory.
