Hempstead, NY - A pair of Hofstra men's soccer student-athletes - Gabriel Pacheco and Laurie Goddard - were recognized by the CAA for their accomplishments this past week. Pacheco was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week, while Goddard was the league's Offensive Player of the Week. 

Pacheco scored his first goal of the season in a 4-1 victory at Monmouth this past Saturday. He was also a key defensive player in Hofstra's 5-1 win at Fordham last Tuesday. 

Goddard had a big week with three goals and an assist. Both his goals were game-winners. He scored two goals and added an assist in the win at Fordham and then added a goal at Monmouth. He matched his career-high with 10 goals this season and his 25 points are also a career-best. He leads the Pride in goals and points, and is second in assists. 

Hofstra, which earned the CAA overall top seed with the win at Monmouth, closes out the regular season Saturday night (6 p.m.) at home versus Drexel.
