Hofstra Pours It On In Second Half To Rout Fordham

Bronx, NY - Laurie Goddard scored two goals and added an assist, while Daniel Burko added a brace of his own as Hofstra pulled away from Fordham with four second-half tallies in a 5-1 victory Tuesday night at Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field. The victory was Hofstra's sixth in a row.

The Pride moved to 10-4-0 overall, posting its 22nd 10-win season in program history and the 19th under Head Coach Richard Nuttall. Fordham fell to 7-4-3 on the season.

The Rams got on the board first as Bennett Leitner scored an unassisted goal at the 35:32 mark. Hofstra leveled the score 2:22 before halftime on Burko's penalty kick. The second half was all Hofstra, as the Pride took advantage of a man advantage following a red card to Leitner 9:47 in.

Goddard got the barrage going at 59:13 with his first of the night, an unassisted goal on a free kick. Just about 10 minutes later, Burko headed home a rebound of a Goddard shot for his second of the game. Goddard would add a second unassisted goal at 77:39 before Carter Schmitz closed the scoring at 86:41 as he followed his own shot and knocked in a rebound.
