Hempstead, NY – The 2024 season of Hofstra softball officially begins on Friday, February 16, as the Pride travels down to Florida to compete in The Fonseca Memorial Tournament at USF. All games will be played at USF Softball Stadium on the USF campus in Tampa.

Sunday, Feb. 18 @ 11:30 a.m.: Hofstra vs. Purdue

The Pride returns to competition following a terrific 2023 campaign that saw Hofstra claim its 13th CAA softball title and make its 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament with a 5-4 win over Towson in the final game of the 2023 CAA Softball Championship.
Adrienne Clark returns for her third season as head coach of the Hofstra softball program.
Chelsea Manto and
Alanna Morse highlight the returnees for the defending CAA champions heading into the 2024 season. An NFCA All-Northeast Region Second Team and All-CAA First Team selection in 2023, Manto finished her season with a .301 batting average with 53 hits, nine RBI, and a CAA-leading 27 stolen bases, while Morse returns following a season that saw her receive CAA All-Rookie Team honors on 46 hits, 24 RBI, 17 runs scored, and a .284 batting average. Becca Vaillancourt also returns to backstop the Pride following her debut season in Hempstead where she played in all 56 games and tallied a .272 batting average with 44 hits and 18 RBI.
All four of Hofstra's opponents have opened their 2024 seasons prior to The Fonseca Memorial Tournament at USF. Hosts USF are currently 4-2, while Boston College is 4-1, Purdue is 3-2, and UIC is 0-5. Hofstra as a 12-10 all-time record versus Boston College, while Hofstra is 3-2 against UIC and Purdue, and the series stands at 15-7 in favor of USF.
