Hofstra Alum Kevin Warne Named To Coaching Staff For U.S. National Team

| By:
Hempstead, NY - Kevin Warne, a former Hofstra men's lacrosse student-athlete and 2000 graduate of Hofstra, was named an assistant coach for the U.S. Men's Field National Team, it was announced on Wednesday.

Warne, the current head coach at Georgetown, will assist Hofstra Head Coach Seth Tierney, who was named the head coach of the United States team back in April.

Tierney and Warne will lead the U.S. through the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship, which will be held in Japan.

A 2000 graduate of Hofstra, Warne majored in psychology while playing for the Pride from 1995-99. He was a four-year letterwinner and a two-time All-America East honoree. As a senior, he was also named an honorable mention All-American after guiding Hofstra to its third league championship and postseason berth. While finishing his degree at Hofstra, Warne served as an assistant coach at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School on Long Island.

USA Lacrosse and Tierney completed the entire staff as Bobby Benson and Charley Toomey will serve as assistant coaches, Patrick Watson will serve as the team operations administrator, and Mike Kettell will serve as the equipment manager.
