League High Seven Named To All-CAA Men's Soccer Teams

11/6/2024 3:41:00 PM

Hempstead, NY - The Coastal Athletic Association announced its postseason awards this afternoon and seven members of the Pride were named to the league's all-conference teams. The seven selections were the most of any school.

Graduate defender Pierce Infuso (Merrick, NY) and graduate forward Jacob Woznicki (Bristol, CT) were named to the All-CAA First Team. Infuso is making his third consecutive appearance on an All-CAA team and his second on the first team. A 2023 All-American, Infuso started every game for the Pride and was part of a defense that posted eight shutouts. He also chipped in offensively with five assists, which is tied for first on the team. Woznicki, a transfer from Stonehill, made a strong impression in his first season at Hofstra, leading the team in scoring with 20 points on eight goals (also a team-high) and four assists.

Junior Laurie Goddard (London, England) earned a spot on the All-CAA Second Team in his first season at Hofstra after transferring from Merrimack. The midfielder tallied six goals and five assists for 17 points in 14 games.

Hofstra placed four players - freshman forward Lennon Gill (Dublin, Ireland), graduate midfielder Roc Carles (Mataro, Spain), senior midfielder Eoin Farrell (Athy, Ireland), and senior midfielder Teddy Baker (Bawdsey, England) - on the All-CAA Third Team. Gill, who was also named to the CAA All-Rookie Team, had a breakout freshman campaign with four goals and an assist in 14 games before being sidelined due to injury. Carles earned his second third team selection after being named to the team in 2022. He has one goal and a career-best four assists in 16 games this season. Farrell has also played in 16 games this season and has contributed four goals for eight points, both career bests. This is Farrell's first All-CAA nod. Baker is also a first-time honoree after posting five goals and two assists for 12 points in 13 games. The five goals and 12 points are Hofstra bests for Baker, who is in his second year with the Pride.

The Pride, ranked No. 18 in the nation and seeded fourth in the CAA Championship, returns to action Thursday in a first round game against No. 5 seed Charleston at Elon. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
