Santi Scores First Career Goal In One-Goal Loss At Bryant

Smithfield, RI - Pietro Santi scored his first career goal to tie the game at one in the second half, but Bryant responded with the go-ahead goal less than two minutes later for a 2-1 victory over Hofstra Tuesday night at Beirne Stadium. Hofstra slipped to 8-3-4 on the season with the loss, while Bryant upped its mark to 9-2-3.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the 17th minute on Brady Geho's sixth goal of the season off a pass from Victor Sala. The score remained the same until the 66:55 mark when Hofstra was awarded a free kick deep in the offensive zone. Jack Benham's free kick to the far post found Santi and the fifth-year defender headed it home for his first goal.

Bryant did not waste much time in retaking the lead as Pablo Maya recorded his first goal at 68:10. Jaiden Willems and David Vilan were credited with assists. Villain played a long ball over the Hofstra defense to Willems on the right side of the box. Willems slid a pass to Maya cutting into the box and he buried the shot into the lower left corner for what proved to be the game-winner.

Hofstra keeper Milo Risenhoover had two saves, while Bryant's Ramon Camejo recorded two stops as well.

Hofstra returns tro New England Saturday when it travels to Northeastern for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
