Jacksonville, FL – Hofstra men's outdoor track distance runner
Abraham Longosiwa attempted to become the first Hofstra men's qualifier to an NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships since 2021. Unfortunately, he was unable to finish his 10,000m race at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East First Round from Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
A freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, Longosiwa was among the front of the pack to start the 10,000m race. The distance runner continued to run among the top five runners in the race through the first 3200 meters. As the race went on, Longosiwa slipped further and further out of the top 12 qualifying zone, and he had dropped out of the race by the 4400 meter mark.
Longosiwa ends his freshman season as the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Year, and he was named All-CAA for placing third in the 5000m at the CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.
