New York City, New York – A number of Hofstra men's outdoor track & field student-athletes set personal bests in their respective fields of competition at the Metropolitan Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the famous Icahn Stadium in New York City.
In addition to the new personal bests set,
Paul Markovina represented the Pride on the podium with a second place finish in the 5000m with a time of 14:45.55. Markovina finished 11.07 seconds ahead of NYU's Mubeen Zainul in third and 4.53 seconds behind race-winner Michael Hennelly of Manhattan.
Brian Beck and
Aiden Willey also ran in the 5000m, with Beck placing sixth with a personal-best time of 15:23.85, and Willey finishing behind Beck with a time of 15:33.89.
Nile Love set two personal bests on the day. He hit a mark of 6.48m (21' 3.25") for a sixth-place finish in the Long Jump, and he achieved a mark of 1.70m (5' 7") to place eighth in the high jump.
Alec Padron also set a new top time in the 200m dash finals, crossing the finish line in 23.96.
Hofstra returns to action next Friday, April 14, at the Friar Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island.
