Mac Gates was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office this afternoon.
Gates a day to remember for the Pride in their 12-6 road win over Monmouth on Saturday.
Gates tallied a season-high 15 saves and only allowed those six goals in a dominant performance with much of the game played in a torrential rain storm.
Gates added a ground ball to his total and he was tremendous early on in setting the tone as he allowed only one goal in the first 30 minutes of action.
The 15 saves tied his season-high set at Michigan on February 18. It was his most saves in a game since having 18 against Fairfield on April 2, 2022.
Gates has played every second in net for Hofstra this season.
