Hofstra Squares Off Against William & Mary in CAA Quarterfinals

Towson, MD – After two thrilling wins in two days as the 12-seed in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship presented by Primis, the Hofstra women's basketball team will face William & Mary in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 10, at SECU Arena on the Towson University campus. Tip-off against the Tribe is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
 
The game will air live on FloHoops, and WRHU 88.7 FM will provide an audio-only broadcast of the game. Links to both broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, CAA Championship central page, and ticket links are available on this page and the women's basketball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.
 
The Pride became the first 12-seed to advance to the quarterfinals of the CAA Championship since 2006 with a 66-59 win over five-seed North Carolina A&T in the second round. Sorelle Ineza led the Pride with 19 points, while Brandy Thomas scored 18 points, and Emma Von Essen finished with 11 points for three Hofstra players in double-figures. Zyheima Swint pulled down a team-best seven rebounds against the Aggies, while Ally Knights led the team with five assists, and Rosi Nicholson tallied four takeaways.
 
William & Mary earned the four-seed in this year's conference tournament with a 17-12 overall record. One of the top three-point shooting teams in the conference, the Tribe had two receive CAA postseason honors, with All-CAA First Team honoree Riley Casey the highlight as she leads the team with 18.4 points per game. Teammate Sydney Wagner received All-CAA Second Team honors after finishing second on the team with 15.6 points per game.
 
Friday will be the 51st all-time meeting between Hofstra and William & Mary, and the Tribe leads the series 30-19-1. William & Mary has won the last three meetings against Hofstra, including a 69-50 win in the final game of the 2022-23 regular season.
