Staten Island, NY – Hofstra men's indoor track freshman
Abraham Longosiwa cruised to a first place finish in the 3000m at the METS Indoor Championships in Staten Island, New York.
The Colonial Athletic Association Men's Cross Country Rookie Of The Year, Longosiwa crossed the finish line in the 3000m with a time of 8:15.64, nearly 15 seconds faster than runner-up Michael Hennelly of Manhattan. It is the seventh-fastest time in the CAA this season.
Paul Markovina also finished fourth in the Mile with a time of 4:17.43.
Nile Love scored a top-10 finish in the Long Jump, recording a mark of 6.39m to finish eighth.
James Watterson finished 18th in the Shot Put with a mark of 7.39m.
Also competing for Hofstra was Alec Patron and
Vis Haripal in the 60m prelims,
Nayan Chatterjee,
Adam Gordon, Cade Jaipaul, and Jonathan Lahav in the 200m,
Patrick Wall and
Zachary Kohner in the 800m, Aidan Willey in the 5000m, and Gordon and
Greg Franzetti in the long jump.
The Hofstra men are back in action on Friday, February 10 at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston, Massachusetts.
