Paul Markovina of the Hofstra indoor men's track team represented the Pride in the 3000m from the Virginia Beach Sports Complex at the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championship, the first indoor track & field championship in conference history.
A grad student distance runner from Old Westbury, New York, Markovina completed the 3000m in a time of 8:31.62 to finish 12th. Markovina ran the course 1.2 seconds ahead of Monmouth's Ryan Tarapchak in 13th and 0.4 seconds behind 11th-place finisher Sebastien Reed of Monmouth.
Hofstra finished the team competition with six points, placing them seventh in the team standings. Northeastern scored 171 points to finish ahead of Monmouth with 155 points, earning the Huskies the first-ever CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship trophy.
