Longosiwa Sets New CAA Top Time in 5000m, Love Takes Fourth in Long Jump

Staten Island, NY / Boston, MA – The Hofstra men's indoor track team sent split squads to compete in a pair of indoor events over the weekend at the FastTrack National Invitational in Staten Island, New York, and the BU David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston, Massachusetts.
 
Abraham Longosiwa ran in the 5000m at the BU David Hemry Valentine Invite, and the freshman ran a blistering time of 13:39.61. His time smashed his previous personal-best of 13:47.7 set at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic, and it places him atop the Colonial Athletic Association performance list and seventh in the Northeast Region. Paul Markovina also represented Hofstra in Boston, and he recorded a time of 8:20.58 in the 3000m.
 
In the FastTrack National Invitational, Nile Love competed in three events for the Pride and tallied a personal-best in all three. Love finished fourth in the College Long Jump with a mark of 6.52m (21' 4.75"), while he finished 13th in the High Jump (1.81m/5' 11.25") and 22nd in the Triple Jump (12.06m/39' 7").
 
Also competing for Hofstra at the FastTrack National Invitational was Nayan Chatterjee, Alec Padron, and Vis Haripal in the 60m dash, Greg Franzetti in the 200m, Cade Jaipaul, Adam Gordon, Jonathan Lahav, and Zachary Kohner in the 400m, Patrick Wall in the 800m, Aiden Willey in the 3000m, Gordon and Franzetti in the long jump, and James Watterson in the shot put.
 
The Hofstra men's team returns to competition at the CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship on February 22-23 from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
