Torrillo and Beck Finish in Top 10 at Metropolitan Championships

Newark, NJ - Hofstra had both Daniel Torrillo and Brian Beck finish in the top 10 at the Metropolitan Championships 8K race in Branch Brook Park on Saturday.

A freshman from Morganville, New Jersey, Torrillo made his collegiate debut and ran the course in 25:04.53, finishing in fourth and Beck, a sophomore, finished in 10th place with a time of 25:52.99. Jamie Cartnal placed 20th in a time of 26:13.45. Trevor Zappulla, in his first collegiate race came in 29th at 26:26.79. Brendan Capodanno finished it off for the Pride placing 53rd with a time of 27:59.41.

Hofstra finished fourth as a team at 104, while Columbia took the team title at 29 points. Seton Hall came in second overall at 93. 

The next race for the Pride will be at the CAA Cross Country Championships in Williamsburg, Virginia, on October 27.
