The Pride is coming off a 17-4-1 record, a Colonial Athletic Association championship, and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021. The Pride returns 18 players from that championship team including defenders Anja Suttner (All-East Region), Krista Agostinello (3 assists), and Marlene Fries (1 assist), goalkeeper Skylar Kuzmich (0.52 GAA), and forward Ellen Halseth (7 goals, 3 assists).

Fairleigh Dickinson is coming off a 10-6-4 campaign in 2021. The Knights return their top two scorers in Aitana Martinez-Montoya and Naemi Hausen. The pair combined for 14 goals and six assists. Goalkeeper Malene Nielsen, who played every minute last season and recorded a 1.20 goals against average, also returns.

Hofstra is 8-0-1 all-time against the Knights and has won six consecutive games. The teams last met February 25, 2021, with the Pride posting a 5-1 victory.

Following the season opener, the Pride will have an eight-day break before traveling to Yale for a 4 p.m. contest on August 26.
