Shannon Boyle picked up the first All-American honor of her career today as she was named to the Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Honorable Mention Team, it was announced this morning.
Boyle has picked up a slew of awards this year in addition to the latest honor. She was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team, the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team, and was a member of the CAA Championship All-Tournament Team.
Boyle had a strong year for Hofstra, totaling 93 draw controls, 34 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and three points (1 G, 2 A). She led the Pride in draw controls and caused turnovers and ranked second in ground balls. Boyle ranks first in the CAA in draw controls per game, fourth in caused turnovers per game and seventh in ground balls per game.
She concludes her career ranked fifth all-time at Hofstra with 77 caused turnovers and 10th in both draw controls (130) and ground balls (125).
