Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra softball team is back at Bill Edwards Stadium this weekend for its final home Colonial Athletic Association series of the 2022 season. Hofstra will host the Drexel Dragons in a three-game set, first with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30 at 12 p.m. before a single-game on Sunday also at noon. Sunday's game will also serve as Senior Day where the Pride will honor four student-athletes playing in their final season at Hofstra –
Madison Burns,
Devyn Losco,
Amanda Maffucci and
Sam Ward.

Last weekend, Hofstra (16-24, 9-5 CAA), Hofstra took on first-place Delaware Hens and won one of three games on the road.
Madison McKevitt had a big week for Hofstra as she batted .625 (5-for-8) with four RBI's and a .727 on-base percentage. Yesterday, the Pride dropped a 4-2 mid-week single game to Stony Brook on the road. Overall,
Chelsea Manto continues to pace Hofstra with a .345 batting average, while
Meghan Giordano has had a hot bat as of late and has now driven in a team-high 24 runs.
Drexel (23-20, 4-11 CAA), is entering the weekend on a three-game non-conference winning streak with one win over Seton Hall and two over Lafayette. Last weekend, the Dragons were swept by James Madison, 4-1, 10-1, and 11-4. Drexel searching for its first CAA win since defeating Towson on Sunday, April 3, 15-5. Kristi DiMeo is batting a team-best .388 and is tied for a team-high 34 RBI with Ashley Errico. Brooklyn Daly (10-7) is Drexel's go-to hurler and owns a 3.73 ERA through 105 innings of work, while Lindsay Nelson sports a 3.66 ERA through 82.1 innings pitched.
Last season, the teams faced six times and Hofstra was 1-5 against the Dragons (0-3 on the road and 1-2 at home). Hofstra leads the all-time series against Drexel, 72-17.
